The Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by selling metal products (such as steel, aluminum, copper, or specialty alloys) to commercial and industrial customers. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers in construction
- Identify sales opportunities and generate leads through networking, cold calling, and market research
- Present and promote company metal products, including specifications, pricing, and availability
- Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and contracts
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Coordinate with operations, logistics, and production teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and metal pricing fluctuations
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and performance metrics
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities in CRM systems
- Provide after-sales support and resolve customer issues
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 5+ years of sales experience (preferably in metals, industrial products, or construction materials)
- Strong understanding of metal products and industry applications is preferred
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read technical drawings or specifications is a plus
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office
