Commercial Property Manager
Job Description
Are you the kind of person who takes ownership, rolls up your sleeves, and makes things happen? We’re looking for a Property Manager to oversee a unique portfolio of 8–10 properties across Asheville—including retail, office, artist/creative spaces, light multifamily, and a few HOAs.
You’ll report directly to the COO and play a key role in keeping this diverse portfolio running smoothly—from tenant and owner relations to budgets, vendors, site visits, and making sure things actually get done.
This is a true full-scope role for someone who thrives on variety, values relationships, and loves solving problems. The company has grown tenfold in the last decade by hiring people for their mindset and operating system—not just their resume. They’re not looking for a corporate type or a “career property manager.” They want someone dependable, grounded, and proactive—someone who just gets it done and takes pride in their work.
The culture is family-style and team-oriented—no ego, no hierarchy, and a lot of trust. You’ll have a flexible schedule and unlimited PTO, but also the responsibility to show up when your properties need you.
What You’ll Do
- Manage day-to-day operations for a mix of commercial, residential, and creative spaces
- Build strong relationships with tenants, owners, and vendors
- Oversee budgets, rent collections, and vendor contracts
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety, maintenance, and curb appeal
- Coordinate maintenance and capital projects to completion
- Ensure compliance with leases, HOA rules, and property codes
- Partner with accounting and leadership on financial reporting
- Troubleshoot issues and respond to property needs quickly and effectively
- Contribute ideas for improving operations, reducing expenses, and enhancing property performance
What You Bring
- 2–3 years of property management experience (multifamily ideal; commercial a plus)
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through
- Hands-on approach—you don’t just delegate, you do
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Working knowledge of property operations, leases, and vendor management
- Tech-savvy with tools like AppFolio or Microsoft Office
Bonus Points
- Local Asheville ties or community connections
- Experience working in small teams or family-run businesses
If you’re looking for a place where your ideas matter, your work has visible impact, and your team feels like family, this might be your perfect next step.
