Commercial Property Manager
Job Description
We’re partnering with a highly respected, locally owned real estate firm to find a Commercial Property Manager to lead operations for a 225,000 SF Class A office building in Northwest DC. This is an ideal opportunity for a confident, entrepreneurial professional who enjoys autonomy, values stability, and wants to truly “own” their asset.
Why This Role Stands Out
This firm is known for its long-tenured team and low turnover—a direct result of the trust they place in their people. Here, you won’t be micromanaged or navigating layers of bureaucracy. Instead, you’ll have the freedom to make decisions, implement your ideas, and run your building like it’s your own business.
The Opportunity
You’ll step into a high-visibility role overseeing a historic, Class A office asset that is currently just over 50% leased, with capacity for approximately 30 tenants at full occupancy. With upcoming tenant build-outs, move-ins, and capital improvement projects (including planned façade work), this role offers a dynamic mix of operations, project management, and strategic oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a Class A office building
- Manage tenant build-outs, fit-outs, and move-ins from start to finish
- Lead capital projects and coordinate vendors (including upcoming façade renovations)
- Supervise on-site team, including an Assistant Property Manager, Building Engineer, and Maintenance Technician
- Oversee third-party vendors, including front desk and janitorial services
- Partner with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and asset performance
- Build strong tenant relationships and deliver a high-level tenant experience
The Team
You’ll be supported by a knowledgeable on-site team, including a long-tenured Building Engineer who knows the property inside and out, as well as an Assistant Property Manager who will continue to support operations.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as a Commercial Property Manager (office required)
- Experience managing Class A or strong Class B/B+ office assets
- Proven track record with tenant improvements, build-outs, and capital projects
- Hands-on, self-directed leader who thrives with autonomy
- Strong organizational, financial, and communication skills
Why This Role is Open
This position is open due to a retirement, offering a rare opportunity to step into a well-run asset with a strong foundation and long-term ownership.
If you’re looking for a role where your ideas are valued, your decisions matter, and you can truly take ownership of your building—this is it!
