Job Overview:

The Commercial Officer will play a pivotal role in managing commercial and logistics operations to support the company's growth in the food and chemical ingredients sector. This role requires expertise in sales, customer relationship management, supply chain coordination, and regulatory compliance to drive business success and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the food and chemical ingredients market.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to revenue growth.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Monitor customer accounts to assess purchasing patterns and provide tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and support for customer requirements.
  • Handle customer complaints and provide effective resolutions in line with company policies.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management

  • Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing and availability of raw materials.
  • Manage shipping schedules and track deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Optimize logistics processes to minimize costs and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hazardous materials transportation, and regulatory guidelines.

Pricing & Contract Management

  • Assist in the development of competitive pricing strategies based on market analysis.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and manage commercial contracts to align with business objectives.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, chemical handling standards, and trade regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and certifications.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of necessary regulatory documentation.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare sales and logistics performance reports, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights on inventory turnover, logistics efficiency, and business development opportunities.
  • Analyze financial data to drive strategic decision-making.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a commercial, logistics, or supply chain role within the food or chemical ingredients industry.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in ERP/CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures, customs regulations, and global trade policies.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize supply chain processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
