Position Summary:
The bank is seeking a motivated Credit Analyst / Junior Lender to support the commercial lending team with credit analysis and underwriting while preparing for a future transition into a production-oriented lending role. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced lenders, develop strong customer relationships, and gain hands-on experience in both credit and business development functions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis of commercial credit requests, including the review of financial statements, tax returns, collateral valuations, and cash flow projections.
- Prepare clear and concise credit presentations in accordance with bank policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with senior lenders to structure loan proposals that meet client needs and manage credit risk effectively.
- Participate in customer and prospect meetings alongside senior lenders to gain exposure to business development activities.
- Monitor existing credits for covenant compliance, payment performance, and overall risk trends.
- Support portfolio management activities, including annual reviews and loan renewals.
- Maintain current knowledge of the bank’s credit policy, lending guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with customers, prospects, and internal team members.
- Demonstrate initiative in developing the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful transition into a commercial lending role.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience in a banking environment.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and commercial loan structures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work under deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and commercial loan software systems.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and eager to learn the relationship management side of lending.
