Cold Storage Warehouse Facility Manager

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for warehouse management and operations? Join a thriving organization in the food production industry in Philadelphia, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving excellence and efficiency in the distribution center. We're looking for a Warehouse Manager who can inspire teams across all shifts and help optimize operations in a fast-paced environment.
Anticipated Schedule: As the Warehouse Manager, you will be on-site at our client’s Philadelphia Distribution Center, providing leadership and guidance across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. You'll ensure operational excellence by being present on-site, effectively managing all shifts based on operational needs.
Warehouse Manager Responsibilities:
- Strategically manage the warehouse in alignment with the company’s policies and vision.
- Oversee all receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
- Set up and optimize layout for efficient space utilization.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce operational policies and procedures to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all warehousing, handling, and shipping regulations.
- Uphold standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security.
- Manage stock control and ensure data reconciliation with storage systems.
- Prepare the annual budget and track financial performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and transport companies.
- Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and evaluate team performance.
- Recruit, select, train, coach, and motivate employees.
- Produce performance metrics for warehouse operations.
- Regularly review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Minimum Requirements:
- A BA/BS degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (MA/MS is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered).
- At least 5 years of warehouse management experience.
- Deep knowledge of warehouse management procedures and inventory control.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfort working in varying temperature conditions (28–33°F due to refrigeration).
- Flexibility to work extended hours and manage 24-hour operations across three shifts.
- Lean Six Sigma experience and the ability to implement a Lean program.
- Experience developing and tracking KPIs.
- Experience in privately held or family-owned businesses is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage approximately 12+ front-line supervisors and 100+ hourly associates.
- Military experience is welcome.
