ABOUT THE ROLE:

CLOUD SECURTIY ENGINEER

Direct Hire role with our client located in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Work Environment: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud security architectures to protect sensitive financial and customer data
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and security audits across cloud environments
  • Develop, document, and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Monitor cloud environments for security threats and respond to incidents using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR tools
  • Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure secure cloud integrations and adherence to security best practices
  • Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines using DevSecOps methodologies
  • Stay current on emerging threats, regulatory changes, and cloud security trends
  • Support the creation and delivery of security awareness and training programs
  • Prepare and present security posture reports, risk findings, and incident summaries to senior stakeholders
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and cloud service providers to validate security controls and compliance
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOX, and other applicable security and privacy regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
    • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 7+ years of experience in information security, cloud security, or security engineering roles
  • Proven experience securing cloud environments within regulated industries (financial services preferred)
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud security best practices, including:
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • Encryption (data at rest and in transit)
    • Network security and segmentation
  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, and SOX
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices within CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as:
    • Terraform
    • Ansible
    • CloudFormation
  • Familiarity with security monitoring and incident response technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex security concepts to diverse audiences
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Cloud-specific security certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP Security)
  • Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP)
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory examinations
