Cloud Platform Security Engineer
Novacoast Staffing is currently partnered with an Enterprise-sized Security partner in their search for Cloud Platform Security Engineers for long-term engagements. These remote, contract roles are expected to last a minimum of 1 year with the expectation to be renewed multiple times at 1-year intervals. Pay range for this position is between $50-$60 an hour
Key Responsibilities:

Be the technical voice for all things related to security and compliance in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OCI, Alibaba)

Develop and deliver detailed technology solutions through consulting project activities.

Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment.

Strategy planning for moving critical data, intellectual property, and high-demand applications to Public Cloud.

Act as the customers’ advocate for any issues that require technical assistance and follow up with the customer until the issue is resolved.

Write code/scripts as needed.
Requirements:
-
Experience as a professional services engineer, consultant or IT/operations engineering
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading security solutions in large environments- Specifically with securing public cloud offerings

Good understanding of Vulnerability management and a diversity of compliance standards.

Understanding of API based security and compliance standards and Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems and scripting

Must have mid to advanced experience in Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud installation, configuration and administration of security features and services including identity and access management, service-related security features, networking, firewalls, encryption, and related standard methodologies

Proficiency with cloud networking models and connectivity, network security, virtualization, and cloud computing

Working experience with customers, consulting, team lead, configuring and fixing network infrastructure security products

Programming experience in a higher-level language such as NodeJS, Ruby, Chef, Puppet, YAML, JSON, and/or Python

Deep understanding of exploits, malware, ransomware, and etc. along with their creation and activation

Good understanding & expertise of tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD (Jenkins, Github, etc)

Experience with how to Configure, implement, and maintain a Security Operating Platform

Must be very comfortable with presenting to Leadership and the customer and possess strong consulting skills

Python Scripting (beginner experience at minimum) - Prisma Cloud Resource Query Language (RQL) (Formerly known as Redlock/Twistlock) a plus

Strong verbal communication skills, with demonstrable ability to communicate to senior leaders and technical peers

Work remotely full-time with quarterly visits to the customer site
Travel:

Travel up to 10% within the designated region, country, and/or theater, International travel also required on ad-hoc basis and can be coordinated by our in-house travel department.
