Closing Services Manager
Purpose
- To ensure closing services (escrow) team is providing services to our referral partners/customers, in compliance with company standards.
- To create and maintain relationships with the referral sources for business, both for existing clients and for potential clients in the community.
- To help ensure that the closing services (escrow) team is meeting its financial obligations to keep controllable expenses within acceptable ranges.
- To ensure closing services team is utilizing company systems, centralized teams, and generally abiding by the company’s desired workflows.
Major Responsibilities
- Performs notary closings on a regular basis.
- Carries their own file load and actively processes files.
- Builds team morale and inspires others to operate efficiently and provide top quality service for our clients, leading with integrity.
- Encourages growth and development among direct reports, while addressing deficiencies quickly and efficiently.
- Drives strong, frequent, and effective communications internally with team members and externally with the realtors, lender, attorneys, buyers, sellers, etc., to prepare for settlement, to clear title, to resolve issues and problems that occur as the file progresses to closing/settlement, and provide clients with an exceptional closing experience.
- Demonstrates strong judgment ability and skill in decisions regarding basic title insurance risks related to policy, or escrow and settlement.
- Consults with Senior Leadership, Title Officers, and Regional Counsel when necessary to ensure a positive resolution is achieved.
- Proactively seeks to build strong and friendly relationships with prospective customers through community and real estate industry involvement, as well as collaboration with our sales and development team.

- Responsible for their team’s performance in regard to client retention.

Required Experience, Education, & Certification(s)
- Minimum of two years of related experience in escrow & closing services, with complete proficiency in processing real estate files, performing notary closings, balancing receipts and disbursements, and the like
- Prior management experience
- Must be a current notary for the state in which employed, and for any additional states where the role would perform closings
- Must hold a current Driver’s License

- Ability to demonstrate initiative and reflect a sense of urgency by meeting or exceeding deadlines.
- Proficiency in all applicable software/hardware applications, including a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
