Clinical Effectiveness Consultant

Northern California Minutes from Berkeley, San Jose, Palo Alto, Sacramento and Stockton CA

Our client is a multi facility medical center in CA. They are part of one of the largest, most successful and decorated health systems in the United States. It offers both community based and tertiary medical services. Their location has over 400 licensed beds is a not-for-profit and fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. They have received special recognition for quality by the Joint Commission this year and won a Consumer Choice award for hospitals from the National Research Council.

They have an opening for a Clinical Effectiveness Consultant to help their new Director reorganize the department and become an integral part of the team. Ideally this would be an RN who has been involved in process/performance involvement, someone who actually knows and had demonstrated how to improve process/performance, not just the theory behind it.

Position Summary:

To develop and coordinate components of the hospital Performance Improvement (PI) Program. To facilitate improvement activities utilizing PI methodologies, and to serve as a resource to assist and train others on performance improvement methodologies and evidence-based patient safety and quality initiatives. To provide all levels of management, physicians, and clinical staff with accurate and timely information for effective decision making utilizing internal and external decision support systems.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field
  • CA Registered Nurse License or must obtain California RN license within 1 year of hire
  • 3 years' experience in a healthcare outcomes and performance improvement initiatives.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Nursing or related field
  • Experience in licensing/accreditation compliance and survey preparation.
  • Certified Professional Healthcare Quality RN - CN-PH QUAL, CPHQ, ASQ
  • Licensed Pharmacist - PHARMD
