The Department of Anesthesiology and Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM) and Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO), in partnership with CareerPhysician, the national leader in academic child health executive search and leadership development, invites applications and nominations for the positions of Clinical Director, Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology and Associate Director, CHCO Heart Institute. Key Opportunity Highlights
o Lead comprehensive clinical and academic leadership team structure as well as continuing excellence in education by fostering the success of the ACGME accredited Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology fellowship program.
o Established resources for the recruitment, retention, and career development of world-class faculty.
o Collaborate with institutional partners to further develop efficient staffing models for pediatric cardiac anesthesia care.
o Participate in the heart institute strategic planning processes, representing the long-term vision and direction of pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
o Various research interests will be supported as well as the opportunity to partner with Research in Outcomes for Children’s Surgery (ROCS) to support pediatric research projects with research development, study coordination, data collection and analysis, and research education.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree
• Fellowship-trained in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology
• Board certification in pediatric anesthesiology is highly desirable and expected within two years of employment.
• Eligibility for permanent, unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Colorado
• Academic accomplishments meriting appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor at CUSOM.
