Claims Logger
Job Description
We are seeking a Claims Logger to join our BPA team in Vaughan.
The Claims logger provides timely and accurate confirmation when reviewing and logging claims submitted by members covered under the L.I.U.N.A. Local 183 Member’s
Benefit Trust Fund. He or she provides courteous and professional customer service while maintaining departmental standards.
Working Hours:
- Monday - Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Thursday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM - 12:30 PM
The Claims Logger will:
- Log all claims received from the Dental Clinic promptly and accurately intoAS400 and distribute them as directed.
- Confirm the members record on AS400 for all dental claims received, to determine if the member is part of the Dental Clinic.
- Separate Drug and Specialty claims submitted from Extended Health claims, and the claims are distributed accordingly.
- An average of 800 claims should be reviewed daily.
- Forward address changes to administration department.
- Return or forward the claims when member not part of Local 183.
- Batch claims according to date, file in batching room, and maintain batching room daily.
- Pull claims from the batching room for adjustments, stop-payments, customer service enquires etc..
- Enter Confirmation of School enrollments and COB Terminations.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of client records.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Management.
To be successful as a Claims Logger with BPA, you will need:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Italian and/or Portuguese, Spanish languages
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organization skills.
- Compliant with government regulation pertaining to the Privacy Act (PPEIDA).
- Intermediate computer skills in the use of related computer applications,including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, AS400, MEBS, Telus and Adjudicare system in order to enter and track program data.
- Participation in company sponsored insurance programs such as FLMI, ACS, ALHC, C.E.B.S. and successful completion of these courses of study during tenure in the position.
- Cooperative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
