Civil Structural Engineer

Our client seeks a mid-career Civil Structural Engineer eager to advance in their technical journey. They are a prestigious, family-owned engineering firm renowned for their excellence across various disciplines, particularly in serving the energy sector, including refining, petrochemical, and power generation industries.
This role offers the chance to become a technical leader in pressure vessels, piping, structures, and materials, influencing international codes and standards. Emphasizing multidisciplinary problem solving and collaboration, the position provides opportunities to tackle complex design and equipment reliability challenges. This opportunity is with our clients Mechanical Division, consisting of more than 50 people with major offices throughout the USA.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering or closely related discipline
• Professional and/or Structural Engineering License
• 5+ years’ civil and structural experience in the refining, petrochemical or power generation industries with:
- Structural steel design
- Foundation and structural design experience
- Knowledge of plant layout and operations
- Foundation / reinforced concrete design
- Experience working with refinery/plant equipment (tanks, plate structures, boilers, stacks, tabletop
- structures, fired heater incasing, etc.)
• Experience with the application of industry codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, ACI
• Experience with field troubleshooting, repairs and system walk-downs and the ability to travel to customer
sites.
• Experience with turnaround support, planning & execution.
• Experience with the commercial software AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, Risa, or SAP2000.
• Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals and mechanics.
• Self-motivated with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
