Civil Engineering Practice Leader (Land / Site Development – Private Sector)

A well-established, nationally recognized civil engineering consulting firm is seeking a Practice Leader to build, lead, and grow its private land development practice in the West Palm Beach market.

The Role

This individual will lead a team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers focused on single-family residential and site development projects, while also driving business development and client growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the design and delivery of land development projects including:
    • Paving, grading, drainage
    • Water, sanitary sewer, and storm systems
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Oversee project financials including budgets, schedules, and invoicing
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team
  • Ensure quality control and consistency across all deliverables

This is a highly visible role with direct impact on both project execution and long-term business growth.

What They’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 15+ years of experience in land/site development design
  • Strong background in single-family residential/subdivision development
  • 10+ years of experience at the Senior PM or leadership level
  • Proven success in business development and client growth
  • Proficiency with tools such as:
    • Civil 3D / AutoCAD
    • HEC-HMS, StormCAD, or similar modeling software
  • Experience working with municipalities, counties, and local agencies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
