Our client, an innovative life insurance company launching in Puerto Rico, seeks a strategic, agile, and execution-focused Chief of Staff to serve as the CEO’s right hand during this pivotal growth phase. This is a rare opportunity for a highly capable insurance professional to help build a modern insurance company from the ground up, while playing a key leadership role in shaping its operational and strategic future.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Project Management: Drive high-impact initiatives and cross-functional projects across departments to ensure timely execution and alignment with company goals.
- Executive Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor and operational partner to the CEO, facilitating decision-making, prioritization, and execution across all business areas.
- Insurance Industry Expertise: Bring a strong foundation in life insurance operations, distribution, or product development to help navigate industry complexities.
- Regulatory Coordination: Support the CEO in ensuring ongoing compliance with all insurance-related regulatory frameworks in Puerto Rico and U.S. jurisdictions.
- Stakeholder Management: Prepare board materials, manage investor communications, and facilitate engagement with regulators, reinsurers, and strategic partners.
- Operational Oversight: Collaborate with department heads to track KPIs, remove roadblocks, and implement streamlined processes for efficiency and scale.
- Culture & Team Development: Support leadership development and internal communications to help shape a high-performance, collaborative culture.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Life Insurance Industry Experience: Background in actuarial, underwriting, operations, product, or compliance within a life insurance carrier or insurtech.
- Strong Operator: Ability to manage multiple workstreams, handle ambiguity, and act decisively in a startup environment.
- Strategic Communicator: Excellent verbal and written skills; comfortable interfacing with C-level stakeholders, investors, and regulators.
- Data-Driven & Analytical: Skilled using dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to measure success and drive improvements.
- Problem Solver & Builder: Enjoys creating structure, solving operational challenges, and executing quickly.
