About Our Client:

This Global Technology company is looking for a Chief Technology Officer to join its executive leadership team and lead technology efforts across the organization. In this role, you will create and oversee all decisions including support, Office IT, Security & Privacy, as well as the development and support of products. As CTO, you will report to CEO, sit on the senior leadership team and participate in Board Meetings. This role will be remote.


● Strategically guide the technical vision for the organization
● Recruit, grow, nurture, and retain our engineering and operations & infrastructure teams
● Constructively critique, refine and improve the strategic direction of the company, in
collaboration with other leaders of the organization to ensure technology initiatives and
capabilities match strategic goals
● Ensure our systems and processes meet all security and privacy regulations and
● Cultivate a community of technology leaders in partner companies and like-minded
organizations who are aligned to the mission, and collaborate to solve challenges in the
higher ed space
● Set a vision for technical architecture and environments for the company; provide the
context, frameworks and processes and org structure for team members to be
productive and make independent decisions that ensure the organizational needs are
● Ensure that engineering resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.
● Cultivate a pipeline of diverse and high quality talent.
● Manage technology budgets and timeframes for delivery.
● Ensure product reliability, availability, accessibility, security and integrity
● Stay on top of product and technology trends and developments and provide the
company direction on technology best practices like testing, SDLC, and support
● Coach and mentor team members for personal growth and performance.


● At least 5 years of experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Principal Engineer in a
SaaS environment, managing and leading engineering teams, with a track record of
achieving project goals and meeting deadlines while fostering a healthy team
● A “player coach” able to move from deeply technical conversations on the pros/cons of
various technical solutions with the team - to a high level discussion with clients or
senior executives.
● Experience working for small to midsize organizations
● Experience recruiting and retaining elite teams and unlocking their full potential.
● A track record of providing direct and constructive feedback and helping employees
develop their skills and careers
● Strong problem solving skills as well as the ability to manage several tasks and projects
concurrently and prioritize work effectively.
● Multiple examples of success in building and scaling both the technology organization
and system solution architecture (across both application and infrastructure) for a global
web based SaaS application.
● Proven strategic thinker with strong business acumen and an eye for efficiency and
judicious use of resources.
● Excellent communicator with strong client and board facing presentation skills.
● A consensus builder and team player with proven track record of trust and transparency -
open to input, ideas, and feedback from clients, peers, subordinates and other members
of the organization.
● Ability to motivate teams and inspire confidence.
