About the Opportunity

GRC Executive is conducting a confidential search for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on behalf of a rapidly growing technology-driven financial services organization.

This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to lead and scale the company's technology platform, engineering organization, data infrastructure, cybersecurity initiatives, and innovation strategy. The CTO will play a critical role in shaping the future direction of the business and ensuring technology remains a key driver of growth, operational efficiency, customer experience, and long-term value creation.

The ideal candidate is a strategic technology leader with experience building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, modern software platforms, and data-driven organizations. This individual must be capable of operating at both the executive and technical levels, balancing long-term vision with hands-on execution.

Position Overview

The Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for the overall technology strategy and execution of the organization. This includes software engineering, platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and analytics, artificial intelligence initiatives, and technology operations.

The CTO will work closely with executive leadership to identify opportunities where technology can accelerate growth, improve efficiency, strengthen customer experience, and create sustainable competitive advantages.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the organization's long-term technology roadmap.
  • Align technology initiatives with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on technology-related matters.
  • Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Engineering & Product Development

  • Lead software engineering teams responsible for customer-facing and internal platforms.
  • Establish best practices for architecture, development, testing, deployment, and quality assurance.
  • Drive the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions.
  • Oversee Agile development processes and engineering performance metrics.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top technical talent.

Data, Analytics & Artificial Intelligence

  • Lead the organization's data strategy and analytics capabilities.
  • Develop infrastructure that supports business intelligence, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation across business functions.
  • Support initiatives related to predictive analytics, process automation, and operational efficiency.

Infrastructure, Security & Compliance

  • Oversee cloud infrastructure, DevOps, system reliability, and scalability.
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of company systems and data.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, risk management programs, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Partner with compliance and operational teams to support regulatory and security requirements.

Executive Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
  • Participate in strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, and external technology partners.
  • Present technology strategies, initiatives, and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
  • Proven experience leading software engineering and technology organizations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, software architecture, APIs, databases, and modern development frameworks.
  • Experience building and scaling technology platforms and engineering teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into technology solutions.

Preferred

  • Experience within FinTech, Financial Services, Lending, Payments, SaaS, Marketplace, or other technology-driven industries.
  • Experience implementing AI, machine learning, and automation solutions.
  • Experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial, or private equity-backed environments.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $250,000 – $350,000
