We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Prosecutor to lead our dedicated team of legal professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the prosecution process, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to effectively prosecute criminal cases.
- Provide guidance and supervision to assistant prosecutors and legal staff.
- Review case files, evidence, and legal documents to prepare for trial.
- Represent the District Attorney's Office in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, victim advocates, and other stakeholders to ensure successful prosecution outcomes.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in criminal law and procedure.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to cases and prosecutions.
- Handle sensitive and high-profile cases with professionalism and integrity.
- Serve as a liaison between the District Attorney's Office and the community, promoting transparency and accountability.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Arizona State Bar and eligibility to practice law in the state of Arizona.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as an attorney, with 4 years as a prosecutor (felony criminal cases), and at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Some experience in federal Indian law
- In-depth knowledge of criminal law, court procedures, and rules of evidence.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to upholding justice and fairness.
- Experience handling complex and high-profile criminal cases preferred.
- Residency or willingness to relocate to Sun Lakes, Arizona.
