Overview

Executive Search Associates is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team of a respected critical access hospital offering inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and rural health clinic services. This is a pivotal opportunity for a finance executive who thrives in community-focused healthcare and is passionate about delivering quality care through sound financial stewardship and visionary leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, budgeting, and financial planning functions
• Provide collaborative, strategic guidance as part of the senior leadership team
• Foster effective relationships with medical staff to support high-quality, patient-centered care
• Drive operational excellence while balancing financial growth, team engagement, and patient satisfaction
• Oversee the financial performance to ensure long-term organizational stability
• Partner with external stakeholders and develop strategic collaborations to expand community impact
• Support regulatory compliance and represent the hospital with local, state, and federal agencies
• Advise the board of trustees on matters influencing hospital performance
• Advance the hospital’s mission through visionary planning and execution

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Accounting preferred)
• Master’s degree or CPA preferred
• 3+ years of financial management experience in healthcare or related setting
• Proven ability to lead complex financial operations and drive strategic outcomes
• Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills
• Experience working within a multi-service healthcare environment preferred
