Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Private Equity Board for a leading privately held regional & multi-regional temperature controlled OTR and Dedicated carrier. With over $16 million in revenue, the company has 85 tractors & 123 Temperature controlled and dry trailers operating in the state of Idaho that serves regional food manufacturers. and provides general logistics solutions to a variety of businesses throughout the Western U.S. Operating for nearly 10 years, the company has partnered with customers by offering reliable, safe, and transparent supply chain solutions. This offering is driven by their state-of-art truck fleet and proprietary software program, optimizing carrier sourcing, freight tracking, real time billing and payment services, and provide a higher level of business intelligence.
The CEO oversees the general management of operations including sales, safety, maintenance, driver recruiting & retention, information technology, finance & accounting. Accountable for driving profitability by leading 5 direct reports with a total of 110 drivers and support team. Collaborates with executive team and private equity firm to develop and implement company objectives and performance targets related to long- and short-term strategies. Oversees and capable of planning freight and directs route planning to prevent deadhead and maximize fuel and toll use. Manages business to meet or surpass all budgets and business plans, supporting P&L. Creates operational and sales forecasts and budgets. Engages in continuous improvement of business processes in partnership with team members and management.

Background Required:
  • Transportation operational management (over 100 trucks)
  • Fleet Management, Customer Service, Load planning and extended coverage
  • P&L Responsibility
  • Establishing standard operating procedures, KPI’s and metrics
  • Safety, CSA, DOT, OSHA, FMCSA
  • Industry Related Software (i.e. PCS, McLeod, TMW)
  • Computer Literate: Microsoft suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (i.e. Supply Chain, Logistics or Transportation)
  • Residence: Boise, ID (relocation assistance)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Dedicated Contract Carriage
  • Experience growing a carrier into larger entity (sales growth, target market penetration, account management)
  • Maintenance acumen
  • Private Equity Exposure
