We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Chief Executive Officer for a great opportunity at Compassionate Care Western North Carolina. The ideal candidate will possess 5 years of health care administration or management experience and 10 years of health care experience.

Responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer:

  • The CEO provides leadership and oversight for Hospice of Yancey County, Inc., dba Compassionate Care Western North Carolina, a non-profit hospice and palliative care organization.
  • This position is responsible for all agency operations, including home care hospice services and home-based palliative care services.
  • The CEO supervises the agency's Directors, overseeing all program development, coordination, compliance, and quality improvement.
  • The CEO demonstrates excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage and develop high-performing teams, set and achieve strategic objectives and manage a budget.

Requirements of Chief Executive Officer:

  • 5 years of health care administration or management experience
  • 10 years of health care experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Thorough understanding of a nonprofit corporation's operational, legal, and financial responsibilities.
  • Previous success in recruiting, retaining, supervising, leading, coaching, and developing a high-performance senior management team, including a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellence in planning, organizing, facilitating, programming, setting, and achieving strategic objectives.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, financial analysis, and reporting. Qualified for fiduciary or other bonding, as necessary.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting.
