Chief Executive Officer - FILLED
Johnson Regional Medical Center (JRMC), located in scenic Clarksville, AR, has an outstanding opportunity for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The current CEO, Michael Dorsey, who has led the organization since January of 2017, is retiring. JRMC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit hospital that is locally owned and governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees. Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to assist with this key search.
JRMC is a not-for-profit, general acute care medical facility, licensed for 90 beds. JRMC has been serving the population of Johnson, Logan, Franklin and Pope Counties since 1922. Their service area entails 35,000 – 40,000 residents. JRMC provides a wide variety of health services, including mental health (IP & OP), orthopedics, and the only accredited sleep center between Fort Smith and Little Rock. JRMC has recently received the American Heart Association’s Gold Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Quality Achievement Award for their commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.
JRMC owns several clinic facilities throughout their service area, as well as operates the county ambulance service. The medical staff consists of approximately 40 full-time and 25 visiting specialists.
Michael Dorsey, current CEO of JRMC, says that the services offered at JRMC are “tailored to the needs of the community. We have a strong primary care base of local physicians supported by a group of hospital-based specialists. Our goal is to make sure quality healthcare is available close to home.”
JRMC is also part of AR SAVES (Stroke Assistance Through Virtual Emergency Support), a statewide telestroke program. Through the use of a high-speed internet connection and computer with video capabilities, AR SAVES allows a medical specialist to provide remote treatment for patients. JRMC received the Door to Needle Award from the AR SAVES program at the eighth annual conference in 2017. The award represents the program’s highest honor for achieving the fastest stroke treatment process of the 51 participating hospitals. JRMC emergency stroke patients received diagnosis and treatment faster than any other AR SAVES site with a remarkable door-to-needle time of 38 minutes.
JRMC is in the midst of expanding Women’s Services as a second OB/GYN is joining the organization. This summer, shelled space within the hospital will be built out, doubling the clinic space. The hospital OB department has the capacity to support the growth.
The CEO reports to the 7-member JRMC Board of Trustees and is responsible for providing strategic, financial and operational leadership for the organization. Reporting to the CEO is a leadership team consisting of:
- Chief Financial Officer (12 years with JRMC, two in this role)
- Chief Information Officer (nearly four years with JRMC)
- Chief Nursing Officer (12 years with JRMC, seven in her current role)
The CEO currently directly oversees the Human Resources, Pharmacy, Anesthesia, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Laboratory, Food & Nutrition, Environmental Services, Biomedical and Maintenance departments.
JRMC is seeking an energetic, strategic and visionary leader with proven experience operating in a collaborative and dynamic environment to guide JRMC through the complex issues currently facing healthcare organizations. The CEO will demonstrate excellent communication and relationship skills and have the ability to work with a diverse group of people, including the Board, staff, physicians, donors, community partners and patients. We seek individuals that will foster a culture of collaboration, be approachable, thoughtful, ethical and possess the business acumen to maintain the organization’s financial viability.
