Job Description and Duties:

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a technical mentor for Application Engineers, Project Engineers and Subject Matter Experts
  • Provide mentorship and training to engineers in departments to foster career growth and engineering capabilities
  • Drive design for manufacturability
  • Work with Engineering Manager to improve quality
  • Drive cost savings through design
  • Support other departments as a technical advisor and analyzing risk
  • Fully empowered to make decisions and drive improvement throughout the engineering organization
  • Complete project specific assignments and deliverables as required
  • Travel as required (10-15%)
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Technical training scheduling and tracking
  • Engineering professional development
  • Critical design processes
  • Development and improvement of internal engineering standard processes
  • Approval of internal technical standards
  • Design process audits for project teams
  • Champion of engineering standards, including, but not limited to:
    • Design Failure Mode Engineering Analysis (DFMEA)
    • Process Failure Mode Engineering Analysis (PFMEA)
    • Safety Risk Analysis
    • Introduction and implementation of engineering process improvements
    • Continuous improvement in standards through development


  • Project teams as needed
  • Applications Engineering on proposed solution and technical risk
  • Customer milestone meetings and acceptance activities
  • R & D project development and execution
  • Department continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience:

  • BS in Engineering or in a related field of study or equivalent years of experience in related field; minimum of 7-10 years in engineering position
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Must have proven leadership experience leading a team of technical and engineering professionals
  • Must have appropriate schedule flexibility, sense of urgency, motivation and versatility to make a substantial contribution to the organization’s success
  • Ability to interact positively and constructively with all team members while representing company in a professional manner
  • Willingness to work “above and beyond” in order to meet company goals
  • Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to travel to other company sites as well as customer sites as required
  • Must have excellent time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize efforts based on ever changing needs and demands
