About the Opportunity
GRC Executive Search conducts a confidential executive search for a forward-thinking digital financial institution based in Puerto Rico. As the company scales its fintech and digital banking operations, it seeks a seasoned Chief Compliance Officer to lead its regulatory and risk functions.
This pivotal leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and manage a comprehensive compliance framework that supports business innovation, regulatory excellence, and operational growth. The CCO will work closely with senior executives to ensure adherence to U.S. and international financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the company’s compliance program, including BSA/AML, KYC, OFAC, and regulatory reporting.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
- Build and maintain policies, procedures, and training programs that promote a culture of compliance.
- Monitor internal controls and risk exposure to ensure ongoing regulatory readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed compliance into core business processes.
- Advise the executive team on governance, regulatory developments, and risk mitigation.
- Develop and manage audit program, readiness, policies and procedures
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in financial services compliance, including at least 3 years in a leadership or executive role.
- Expert-level knowledge of U.S. banking and financial regulations; international exposure is a plus.
- Fintech, digital banking, or crypto-related compliance experience is highly preferred.
- CAMS certification preferred; JD or other relevant credentials are a strong advantage.
- Proven ability to lead compliance in dynamic, fast-evolving environments.
