Automotive Chief Business Officer - $350k

Michigan

Intimate team of 30, reporting to the CEO, tier 1 supplier to the automotive. Textile, airbag/safety, and manufacturing highly preferred!

The Chief Business Officer is responsible for overseeing the company’s sales and program management, driving business growth, and developing strategic plans to expand the company’s market share.
The CBO will lead the development and execution of business plans, identify new sales opportunities, and implement processes that support the achievement of company goals.
This position plays a critical role in fostering relationships with customers, collaborating with the product development team, and ensuring the overall growth and profitability of the company.

Essential Functions:


  • Design and implement comprehensive plans to grow the business and achieve revenue targets.
  • Direct the sales and program management teams, located globally, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Responsible for managing the sales budget, ensuring revenue targets are met, and monitoring sales performance against financial goals.
  • Oversee the accounts receivables to ensure timely collections and ensure lines of credit are maintained.
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Develop and execute effective marketing strategies to enhance the company’s visibility and market presence.
  • Increase market share by identifying new opportunities and expanding into new markets.
  • Collaborate closely with the product development team to market and promote products to both existing and potential clients.
  • Champion the commitment to excellence by ensuring the highest quality in product manufacturing and continually improving processes.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, challenge existing approaches and drive the development of new solutions.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to the sales and program management teams.
  • Monitor industry trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior business management role, ideally within the textiles or manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record in sales leadership and business development, particularly within a manufacturing or textiles context.
  • Prior experience managing sales teams and implementing business strategies.
  • Strong understanding of business management principles and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of textiles, and the airbag market.
  • Good financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Leadership ability to influence and motivate a team, holding individuals accountable for performance.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges.
  • Experience in sales and program management in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with employees, management, and external clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
