Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace has an exciting career opportunity for a 12 month fixed-term Chemical Lab Technologist or Technician at our manufacturing hub in Winnipeg, Manitoba.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis of raw materials and in-process samples.
  • Familiar with the use of wet chemistry techniques and laboratory equipment such as HPLC, pH/conductivity meters, hydrometers and refractometers.
  • Competent in laboratory instrument set-up, maintenance and calibration.
  • Maintain quality records and data analysis through the use of lab books and laboratory management systems.
  • Develop, document and maintain up-to-date procedures for test methods and laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct controlled environment testing in support of current programs and processes.
  • Review raw material C of A’s and test reports for conformance to required specifications.
  • Effectively use trend analysis in trouble shooting Root Cause Analysis.
  • Order and maintain a stock of consumable lab material.
  • Work with multiple departments providing clear and concise instructions.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship while completing tasks in a safe and efficient manner.


Position Requirements

  • University Degree or College Diploma with a focus on Chemistry.
  • Previous laboratory experience considered an asset.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments is desirable.
