Chemical Engineer Process
Seeking a Process Engineer to join the Texas manufacturing and operations team. The position will report to the Director of Manufacturing and will be a project driven role working on a diverse group of new, process enhancements and existing opportunities the manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of manufacturing and product design, chemical handling, production equipment capabilities and modification to improve cost, through put, efficiency and continual growth expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Manage project plans and execute on operational improvements plans, meet timing goals and stay within capital budget estimates.
- Manage day-to-day projects using in house and 3rd party resources, as necessary, to accomplish project goals and objectives.
- Monitor and improve the efficiency and output of the plant, ensure the manufacturing process works at optimal levels, measure and maximize the rate line throughout and quality of all line and process equipment.
- Source equipment (new or used), engineering support and technology enhancements with 3rd party vendors. Build and expand the current sources and vendor community available for advice on plant operations and improvements.
- Lead on the preparation of engineering analysis of projects that include preliminary design, detailed design, project ROI and cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis and equipment selection.
- Oversee and develop a working knowledge of risk assessment for projects and the facility, including hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies for the health and safety of both plant staff and the community with the assistance of the V.P. R&D & Regulatory. Ensure that all aspects of the operation and process meet specified safety and environmental regulations.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Packaging and Logistics managers and supervision teams.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Pref Chemical but if not chemical manufacturing experience other degrees are OK)
- 3-5 years plant maintenance/engineering/project engineering experience. However, we will consider fresh college graduates based on school program and GPA.
Preferred (Not required):
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black belt.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer.
