Job Summary
Serenity Med Search is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) for a client hospital in Northern Oregon. This is an exciting opportunity to join a skilled surgical team and provide critical intraoperative support. The ideal candidate will have strong surgical expertise, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct assistance to surgeons during operative procedures.
- Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Handle tissue, control bleeding, and suture incisions as directed by the surgeon.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and respond quickly during procedures.
- Document all surgical activities and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Follow hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current Certification from ONE of the following required:
CSA - National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA)
SA-C - American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA)
CSFA - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital operating room setting.
- Proficiency in using EMR and surgical equipment.
- Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties (orthopedic, general, vascular, etc.).
