Job Description
Linke Resources is recruiting for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). All shifts available including part-time opportunities.
Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides the residents with caring and compassionate care under the direction of the nurse. Assist residents by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs. Assist with bathing and dressing patients, taking vital signs, collecting information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, answering patients call, examining residents for bruises and other injuries/wounds, turning or repositioning patients, assisting with resident transfers, and maintaining clean and orderly resident areas.
Essential Functions
- Provide general hygiene tasks in the form of shower / bath or bed baths depending on the resident’s preference and care plan, assist with daily dental and mouth care, assist with meals and feeding as per the resident’s care plan, assist residents with dressing and undressing, assist residents with bowel and bladder functions as per the their care plan, provide incontinence care or Foley care to the residents and ensure they are clean and dry, and ensure all clothing is clean and dry at all times.
- Assist the residents with transfers and ambulation: Turn and position bedfast and chairfast residents every two hours or as otherwise indicated on their care plan. Assist with lifting, turning, positioning, transferring residents into and out of bed, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts. Ensure that directives in the resident’s care plan are being followed for the number of staff assistance required for transfer. Assist residents with walking using assistive devices as ordered. Assist resident with restorative nursing plan as described in the residents individualized care plan.
- Answer call lights and complete rounds: The CNA will answer all call bells promptly and address all resident needs when answering the call bells and help the resident as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of the residents’ care and provide the nurse with clinical updates: The CNA will document all care in the HER during the shift and as the care occurs. The CNA will ensure all coding is documented accurately and reflects the residents’ abilities as well as disabilities. The CNA will report any changes in condition to the charge nurse.
- The CNA will participate in resident activities and ensure the residents are kept engaged throughout the day.
Education and Experience
Graduate of a CNA certification program and BLS certification. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Previous CNA experience is preferred, but not required.
Physical Demands
- Capable of lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk 90% of the workday.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and stretch frequently.
- Able to lift, push and pull.
