The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator provides administrative, coordination, and program support for Roman Catholic Religious Education activities in support of client Chaplain Religious Support Programs. This position supports Catholic faith formation programs in accordance with Roman Catholic Church teachings, Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) policies, applicable Department of Defense regulations (e.g., Army Regulation 165-1 or equivalent service directives), and installation chaplain guidance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator will:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for Catholic Religious Education programs.
  • Coordinate scheduling of classes, instructors, facilities, and instructional materials.
  • Prepare and distribute religious education calendars, announcements, and communications.
  • Maintain student registration records, attendance logs, and program documentation.
  • Assist with sacramental preparation activities and related recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate volunteers and catechists, ensuring compliance with background checks and required training.
  • Prepare classrooms and instructional materials in accordance with program needs.
  • Track and report participation metrics and submit required reports to chapel leadership.
  • Support special religious education events and seasonal programs as required.

Education and/or Experience

Required:
• Experience supporting Catholic religious education or parish programs.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work professionally within a military or government chapel environment.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to successfully complete background checks and installation access requirements.

Preferred Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, education, or a related field.
• Experience working with Catholic catechetical programs or faith formation initiatives.
• Familiarity with Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) policies and procedures.
