The Catholic Administrative Religious Education Coordinator (CARE Coordinator) provides administrative and programmatic support to the Roman Catholic Religious Education (RE) Program at Fort Sill. This non-personal services position supports the Catholic Priest, Director of Religious Education (DRE), and the Religious Support Office (RSO) by coordinating religious education activities in accordance with Roman Catholic Church doctrine, Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) policies, Army Regulation 165-1, and installation chapel Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The coordinator supports the effective planning, documentation, and execution of religious education programs serving Soldiers, Families, and authorized civilians, with particular attention to programs involving children and youth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Catholic Administrative Religious Education Coordinator will:
• Attend and participate in required Catholic parish and Religious Support Office meetings.
• Develop and submit a monthly Catholic Religious Education calendar, including regular classes, seasonal programs, holy days, and special events.
• Prepare and submit facility reservation requests for RE classes and events in coordination with the Priest, DRE, and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
• Develop and distribute program flyers, announcements, and publicity materials for religious education activities.
• Provide administrative coordination support for regular and seasonal RE programs, including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Vacation Bible School, and RE Kickoff events.
• Track weekly RE attendance and submit required monthly attendance reports.
• Organize, prepare, and reset classrooms and RE spaces before and after scheduled activities.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports documenting consumed materials and supplies.
• Collect required sacramental documentation (e.g., birth certificates, baptismal and First Communion records).
• Accurately enter sacramental records into the AMS online portal and ensure records are prepared for priest certification in accordance with AMS standards and timelines.
• Comply with all installation access, background check, child protection, and training requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard personally identifiable information (PII).
• Conduct all interactions in a professional and respectful manner appropriate to a pluralistic military environment.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
• Ability to obtain Catechist Certification through the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) within 90 days of contract award.
• Demonstrated administrative experience, preferably in a religious education, parish, or educational setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, pluralistic religious environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Background Check with the State Criminal History Repository (SCHR).
• Eligibility for installation access credentials (CAC, long-term pass, or temporary pass).
Preferred Skills:
• Prior experience supporting Catholic Religious Education programs.
• Familiarity with military chapel operations or institutional religious programs.
• Experience coordinating programs involving children and youth.
• Experience using online record systems or databases (AMS portal experience preferred).
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the Religious Education calendar.
• Ability to lift and carry program materials and supplies (up to 25 pounds).
• Work is performed primarily in chapel, classroom, and office environments on a military installation.

• This is a non-personal services position; the employee is not a federal employee.

• Compensation and benefits are provided in accordance with the Service Contract Act (SCA) and applicable Wage Determination.
