Category Mgr

Company is seeking a Category Manager. This person will represent a select group of manufactures or products as a Category Manager, and is responsible to grow that sector of products and or manufactures. They will visit the stores and overall retail marketplace and look for opportunities to increase the company’s product mix and penetration and they would also relay info to the company sales reps or whoever was responsible to take care of each particular customer or product line. They will also make direct sales calls to the buyers. They should have analytical skills to be able to manage by the numbers and at the same time, have good written and verbal communications skills. This is an analytical and sales position rolled into one role. They will need to be able to convince customers at the retail management level, as well as internal outside sales reps in a de facto leadership type role. Company is a large packaged consumer goods company that calls on all of the retail stores in the state. 50K or so for starting salary.
