Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to VP of Operations of a $ 32 million-dollar privately owned nationwide asset-based logistics provider with 17 owner operators and 3 local company drivers providing dry and temperature control service and brokerage for many of the nation’s largest fortune 500 companies.
The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for providing customers with the most efficient mode of transportation for their products, on time and intact. This highly motivated individual will grow new and existing business and have a proven ability to maximize relationships with carriers and account managers /customers utilizing personal contacts, networking and strong price negotiations to grow sustainable profitable business relationships. Challenge is to increase revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Freight Brokerage (1+ years)
  • Strong carrier sales performance – min of 100 shipments/month
  • Modes of Transportation (i.e. Temp-Controlled, Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Specialized)
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Creating a carrier following
  • Develop and manage KPI’s (i.e. # loads booked, on-time performance)
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Willoughby, OH
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Transportation Management Systems knowledgeable
  • Education: College Graduate
