Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Carrier Sales for a nation-wide transportation company headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana specialized in Truckload, LTL, expedited freight, small parcel, air freight, and Partial Consolidation along with real time load tracking.
The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for the solicitation, brokering, and management of all freight for customers. Will maintain the proper documentation pertaining to all loads moved and negotiate customer and carrier freight rates. Will resolve any operational issues. Will call and work with existing customers to obtain loads and or carriers for truck capacity. Will work with leadership and sales to generate new customer leads, follow up with both carriers and customers on assigned loads, maintaining productive working relationships with customer and carrier representatives. Challenge is to increase revenues and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Brokerage Account Management and Operations (4+ years)
  • Modes of Transportation (i.e., Truckload, Dry Van, Reefer, LTL, Intermodal, Specialized)
  • Negotiations (Carrier, Customer)
  • KPI Management
  • Metrics measurements (i.e., pricing, delivery, costs, quality, audits)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e., Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
  • Residence: Indianapolis, IN

  • Transportation Management System
