Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a premier asset-based logistics provider specializing in flatbed, LTL, and intermodal along with a full-service freight brokerage.
The Carrier Sales Manager is responsible for the solicitation, brokering, and management of all freight for customers. Will establish and manage carrier relations and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business. Will identify, source, and procure new carrier relationships to align with the needs of current and future customers. Will manage the partner carrier network and develop strategies to ensure the partner carrier network meets customers’ requirements. Will maintain the proper documentation pertaining to all loads moved and negotiate customer and carrier freight rates. After establishing and expanding a carrier base, will be responsible for developing, growing, maintaining, and leading a multi-modal, Carrier Sales team in Tampa, Florida. Will coach, mentor, manage, and motivate employees at all levels; attract, develop, and retain a strong performing Carrier Sales team by actively participating in the hiring, training, coaching, and promotions process. Challenge is to increase revenues and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Carrier Sales within Freight Brokerage or Transportation Management (6+ years)
  • Modes of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, Dry Van, Reefer, LTL, Intermodal, Drayage)
  • Negotiations (Carrier, Customer)
  • KPI Management
  • Metrics measurements (i.e. pricing, delivery, costs, quality, audits)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience
  • Residence: Tampa, FL (relocation assistance)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Management experience
