Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to a Supply Planning Manager for a privately held food manufacturer, the Capacity Planner is responsible for helping to build capacity planning proficiency for 9 sites in USA & Canada. Supports efforts to optimize the use of ERP system to develop the data and analytics required for the organization to be successful in formal capacity planning. Aids in the design and implementation of JDE supply chain optimization project focusing on capacity planning/rough cut scheduling/rate setting/inventory management. Designs processes for updating/maintaining capacity plans in conjunction with demand planning and plant scheduling. Contributes to S&OP process by reconciling demand to capacity showing gaps to coverage and potential solutions to gaps. Balances supply availability, service levels and inventory in cost effective manner. Aids in design/development/maintenance of key KPIs/metrics. Works with plant schedulers to resolve/refine planning issues. Analyzes/adjusts/maintains rate routings for capacity calculations. Updates/maintains planning data as processes/production capabilities change. Provides capacity estimates against different demand scenarios to gauge the impact of gaining/losing business.

Background Required:
  • Capacity planning design and analytics (5 yrs)
  • Food, CPG or related industry
  • Strong working knowledge of JDE or similar capacity modeling systems like SAP
  • Sales & Operations Planning
  • Manufacturing knowledge
  • KPIs/metrics - design, development & maintenance
  • Strong business knowledge and acumen
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related degree and experience
  • Travel: up to 10%
  • Residence: Minneapolis, MN or St. Louis, MO
