Responsibilities:

May include;

  • Comply with calibration procedures for existing and new lab equipment
  • Maintain accurate calibration records
  • Tracking of all calibrated equipment, internal and external
  • Complete calibrations and qualifications in a safe, timely, and accurate manner following calibration procedures
    and schedules
  • Ensure calibration records are completed accurately
  • Keep lead informed of any calibration issues or deficiencies discovered related to calibration
  • Coordinate with third-party labs to expedite equipment calibrated externally. Maintain accurate records of
    accreditations held by external labs and ensure they comply with the ISO 17025 standard
  • Calculation of uncertainty values related to calibration
  • Responsible for proper handling, storage, and maintenance of test instrumentation and calibration standards
  • Identify project supply/equipment needs to ensure lab operations are not interrupted
  • Maintain a neat and professional work area
  • Always follow safety protocols when executing tasks and projects. Ensure that work areas are safe, neatly
    organized, and professional on-site and in an office environment
  • Works within engineering and proven methodologies to generate accurate test data in the Engineering Lab
  • Works well as a team player and helps promote safety as our number one goal
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

Qualifications:

Nature & Scope:

  • Possesses a broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education
  • Has no discretion to deviate from established procedures by performing structured work assignments
  • Work is closely supervised
  • Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex
  • Explains facts, policies, and practices related to the job area

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand traceability, substitution of standards, test accuracy, and uncertainty ratios as part of ISO
    17025 requirements
  • Familiar with pneumatic, mechanical and electrical instrumentation, understands and applies basic concepts of
    calibration and requirements including accuracy testing
  • Ability to operate scissor lifts to reach instrumentation at higher levels
  • Working knowledge of MS (PP, Excel, Word)
  • Understanding of Thermocouples, pressure transducers, current transducers, and digital power meters
  • Familiar with LabVIEW and control systems
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job

Experience:

  • 0-3 years’ experience including co-ops, internships, and/or research projects that include pneumatic, mechanical,
    and electrical instrumentation

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering preferred
