Peskind Executive Search is recruiting on a confidential basis by an innovative, early-stage consumer technology company at the intersection of culture, experiences, and community. Our client is reimagining how exclusive events are accessed, managed, and shared by high-profile users, tastemakers, and creators.

We are seeking a Founding Engineer / Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of this category-defining platform. This individual will partner closely with the CEO and founding team to architect, build, and scale the company’s technology while transitioning from agency-built systems to an in-house engineering team.

The Role

As the Founding Engineer / CTO, you will:

  • Lead the design, build, and scaling of the core technology platform (web and mobile).

  • Develop and optimize key product features, including guest management tools, event discovery, secure check-in, and marketplace integrations.

  • Define and execute the long-term technical vision and roadmap.

  • Recruit, build, and manage a world-class engineering team as the company grows.

  • Ensure security and compliance standards to protect sensitive, high-profile user data.

  • Integrate third-party APIs (authentication, ticketing, payments, etc.) and ensure platform performance for rapid adoption and high-volume use cases.

  • Remain hands-on in development during the early phases while evolving into a strategic leadership role.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and growth teams to deliver an exceptional user experience.

  • A full-stack builder who can take a product from zero to one and ship production-ready code.

  • A technical leader with prior experience founding or leading engineering teams in early-stage startups.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of engineering experience with deep expertise in full-stack development.

  • Proven experience building and scaling consumer-facing platforms (social, event tech, or marketplace experience preferred).

  • Proficiency with modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, Firebase, etc.).

  • Mobile development expertise (React Native or Swift/Kotlin a plus).

  • Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Google Cloud, or similar).

  • Exposure to AI/ML for personalization is a plus.

  • Previous experience in early-stage startups or founding roles strongly preferred.
