The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for leading large-scale field operations in a high-intensity, weather-driven service environment. This executive provides strategic and operational leadership for multi-site operations, ensuring disciplined execution, workforce alignment, and scalable systems that support rapid growth. The role requires a hands-on leader who can build credibility in the field, guide operational transformation, strengthen leadership accountability, and drive process standardization while maintaining performance during unpredictable, emergency-style events.

- Provide executive oversight of day-to-day operational performance across multiple field locations.
- Lead large-scale, non-route-based operational activities requiring rapid response and coordination during high-pressure service events.
- Establish credibility with field teams through hands-on leadership presence during operational events, including nights and weekends during peak seasonal demand.
- Direct and develop operational leadership, including management of multiple direct reports and a workforce of more than forty full-time employees.
- Assume operational oversight responsibilities previously managed by executive leadership and ensure continuity of operational performance.
- Evaluate current operational processes, workforce tools, and leadership structures across branches to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead post-season operational reviews and implement cross-branch process standardization initiatives.
- Strengthen the internal leadership bench and foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and follow-through.
- Oversee workforce planning and operational coordination for large-acreage service delivery in a dynamic, non-route environment.
- Guide operational transformation efforts while maintaining execution discipline in a 24/7 field-driven environment.
- Ensure operational systems and leadership structures can scale to support aggressive acreage growth and workforce expansion.
Qualifications
- Minimum ten years of operational leadership experience in field-based, high-pressure environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through unpredictable, emergency-style events with urgency and composure.
- Hands-on leadership approach with willingness to maintain field presence during nights and weekends during peak seasonal operations.
- Experience overseeing large-scale, non-route-based operations such as snow management, construction, or emergency services.
- Proven experience scaling operations rapidly across multiple sites.
- Demonstrated ability to hold direct reports accountable while maintaining morale and team cohesion.
- Business or construction-related degree preferred but not required with significant relevant experience.
- Strong alignment with values centered on urgency, ownership, and follow-through.
- Familiarity with EOS or similar structured leadership and meeting frameworks preferred.
- Proactive problem-solving ability and strong analytical follow-through.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal leadership skills.
