JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a CNC Programmer in Bay City, MI. Our client is a leading manufacturer of precision steel castings and machined components serving industries such as aerospace, energy, marine, and heavy industrial markets.
The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs, with a strong focus on Mastercam programming and FANUC controls. This role will support machining operations on mills and lathes, including multi-axis equipment, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe production.
Responsibilities of a CNC Programmer include:

Develop and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for mills and lathes (including 4- and 5-axis).

Perform on-control edits and troubleshoot FANUC control programs.

Select tooling, establish speeds/feeds, and create setup documentation.

Collaborate with machinists and engineers to reduce cycle times and improve part quality.

Support first-article inspections and maintain quality standards per GD&T.

Contribute to continuous improvement, 5S, and safety initiatives on the shop floor.
Job Requirements of a CNC Programmer:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.

Proficient in G-code/M-code programming and parametric routines.

Hands-on experience with FANUC-controlled CNC machines.

Strong knowledge of fixturing, tooling, and machining strategies.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
REQUIRED Experience and Education:

Minimum 3+ years of CNC programming experience (Mastercam required).

Experience with multi-axis (4- or 5-axis) programming highly preferred.

Background in a precision machining or heavy manufacturing environment.

Technical degree or certification in machining/programming preferred, but equivalent experience accepted.
