CNC Programmer
CNC Program primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Understand, adhere, and demonstrate to the company's commitment to QUALITY and SAFETY!
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- Interpret drawings to write programs for CNC machines that include proper methodology, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds in order to generate quality parts in accordance with production standards.
- Create setup sheets based on established criteria.
- Revise programs and documentation based engineering changes.
- Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- Must have the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet expectations for required competencies in position, which includes: 1) safety, health, and environmental awareness, 2) business ethics and compliance, 3) technical/professional competence and quality & time management, 4) interpersonal relations and communication skills, 5) initiative, flexibility, innovation, and adaptability, 6) continuous improvement and problem solving, and 7) planning and organizing. - Minimum of one (1) year experience operating manual machines or CNC machines in a manufacturing environment and 5 years experience directly related to CNC programming.
- Advanced knowledge of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and tape measures.
- Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions.
- Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used on various machines.
- Working knowledge of Catia V5 and Vericut and experience using in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of use of general computer software to include, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division.
Physical Demands:
- Set at a desk for an extended period of time.
- Work on a PC for an extended period of time (up to 8 -- 10 hours per day)
- Work around CNC machines to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and interact with Machinist.
