endevis is working with a manufacturing leader to find a CNC Programmer. The CNC Programmer will draw and/or program for the CNC equipment (plasma, laser, waterjet) for maximized utilization of plate and sheet by choosing the best available based on established parameters.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for increasing the profitability of nested orders
  • Manage the CNC equipment to maximize production and maintain efforts toward level loading the operation
  • Manage and set lead-times
  • Be able to trouble-shoot and problem solve
  • Accurately program customers’ engineering drawings for CNC cutting machines
  • Nest programmed parts to shorts
  • Using Simtrans, nest multiple parts or orders to a plate or sheet to improve yield rates on nesting requirements and reduce lead-times by cutting ahead and reducing handling in shop
  • Review open order requirements for CNC operations and combine nests to improve yields
  • Expediting required material for orders
  • Reduce scrap
  • Report utilization and machine times monthly so we have a target for continuous improvement
  • Be able to read, interpret and understand technical drawings and geometric dimensions and tolerance callouts
  • Be computer literate and have ability to draw parts in CAD/CAM applications
  • Adjust machine job schedules as needed to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Provide information relating to CNC capacity
  • Participate in CNC production meetings to provide input on continuous process improvements
  • Work on continuous improvement
