CNC Milling Programmer / Machinist

Salary: Dependent on Experience (DOE) per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write, review, and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and SolidWorks.
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines according to exact specifications outlined in blueprints.
  • Custom design and fabricate fixtures for specific machining tasks.
  • Select, secure, and maintain tools, fixtures, and machining materials.
  • Monitor all machining operations, making necessary adjustments to settings and inspecting all completed parts to ensure they adhere to strict quality and accuracy standards.
  • Actively engage in and uphold rigorous safety protocols and conduct routine maintenance of machines to ensure perpetual functionality and safety.
  • Compile comprehensive production reports and maintain meticulous quality records to correspond with workflow efficiency and product standards.
  • Participate in continual training sessions and contribute insightfully during team discussions for process improvement.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • An Associate degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming, completion of an apprenticeship, or specialized company training.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a CNC machining role, demonstrating a track record of hands-on proficiency.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, setting up, and operating complex milling machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and enforce adherence to geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Advanced understanding and practice of technical mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Acapable of working autonomously and managing timelines effectively to meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications in Mastercam or SolidWorks.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex machinery and quick rectification of production barriers.

  • Advanced skill level in CAD/CAM software programming.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with a keen eye for details.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, facilitating clear discussions with team members and management.
