CNC Milling Machinist - 5-Axis

We are looking for an experienced CNC Milling Machinist specialized in 5-axis machining centers to join our team. This role requires expertise in setting up, operating, and adjusting sophisticated CNC machines. As a machinist in our company, you will work with minimal supervision, leveraging your skills to produce high-quality machined parts for the aerospace industry. The position involves understanding and interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tools, and performing detailed inspections to ensure accuracy and adherence to stringent specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC 5-axis machining centers efficiently.
  • Perform machine adjustments and troubleshoot issues with machine controllers, machines, and processes.
  • Work from engineering drawings and blueprints to meet design requirements precisely.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, set feeds and speeds, and make necessary adjustments during the machining process.
  • Conduct quality inspection of machined parts using precision measuring tools to ensure specifications are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including management of tools and equipment.
  • Implement reordering processes for tools and supplies as needed to maintain inventory levels.
  • Independently manage workload and machining projects with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and practices within the shop environment.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proven experience in CNC 3-axis and 4-axis milling operations and setup.
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of tooling selection and machine setting for optimal performance.
  • Physical ability to handle materials up to 70 lbs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with 5-axis CNC machines is highly preferred.
  • Background in the aerospace manufacturing industry is advantageous.
  • Advanced certifications or training in CNC machinery or related fields.

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
