CNC Milling Machinist - 5-Axis Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated CNC Milling Machinist skilled in 5-axis machinery to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for setting up and operating state-of-the-art CNC machining centers, ensuring the production of high-quality components for various industries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and operate CNC 5-axis milling centers, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough machine setup, selecting appropriate tools, setting feeds, and determining speeds based on blueprint requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust machining centers as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Interpret blueprints and adhere to tight tolerances to ensure that machined parts meet precise specifications.
  • Perform quality inspection of machined parts using sophisticated measuring tools to ensure that each component meets quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, taking responsibility for tools and equipment.
  • Monitor, manage, and reorder tools and supplies to ensure continuous production capabilities.
  • Independently resolve issues and make informed decisions to advance production goals.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in CNC milling with a focus on 5-axis operations and setups.
  • Proven ability to effectively set up and operate CNC machining centers.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs and manage physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques for CNC machinery and production issues.
  • Independent worker able to effectively operate with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal training or certification in CNC machining especially in 5-axis milling.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD/CAM software.

  • Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills related to CNC machining operations.
