Anderson Biro Staffing is currently partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer that serves as a major product and system solutions provider to aircraft manufacturers. This organization utilizes innovative, lightweight, flame-retardant foam materials that are transforming the way engineers approach part design.

We are seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Operator to join their growing team.

Position Overview

The CNC Set-Up Operator will support Operations and Engineering by setting up and operating CNC equipment within the Primary Operations work cell. This role plays a critical part in maintaining and improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics related to the conversion of foam and other materials into finished products, assemblies, and kits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all set-up operations for CNC Router machining and Primary Operations (POPS) equipment.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the POPS work cell and troubleshoot routine or minor issues efficiently.
  • Lead set-ups for newly programmed parts and provide feedback to Programming and Engineering teams regarding improvements or non-conformances.
  • Utilize manufacturing work orders, blueprints, and GD&T to set up and manufacture high-quality products.
  • Inspect and verify work prior to submission; process non-conforming materials per established procedures.
  • Perform offsets, compensations, and conditional switches; calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Maintain specifications through observation, measurement, and detection of machining issues.
  • Monitor and report scrap daily, offering solutions to reduce future occurrences.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure smooth shift transitions through clear communication.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support additional company objectives as assigned.

Required Experience

  • 3–5 years of CNC Milling experience
  • 1–2 years of CNC Milling Set-Up experience
  • 3 years of manufacturing processing and troubleshooting experience

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of G & M code
  • Proficient with calipers, height gauges, steel rules, and go/no-go gauges
  • Ability to perform origin and tooling offsets
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Strong math skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Process improvement and problem-solving mindset
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions efficiently
  • Organized with strong deadline focus
  • Flexible and adaptable in a team environment

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
