CNC Machinist

Aerospace manufacturer is seeking CNC machinist.

Job Duties:

• Machining large parts to specifications using machine tools such lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders and vacuum fixtures
• Use precision instruments such as micrometers
• Setup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machine process
• Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
• Knowledge of how to position and fasten work pieces
• Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency and submit recommendations for improvement
• Set controls to regulate machining or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media
• Establish work procedures for fabricating new structural products using a variety of metalworking machines
  

Requirements

• 5 years’ experience operating 5 axis CNC Machines; gantry style machines
• 2 years of experience in aerospace environment
• Experience editing programs
• Experience boring high precision holes
• Ability to read, understand and follow step by step procedures
• Experience using/reading mechanical measuring tools
• Familiar with 5S manufacturing procedures
• Proven excellent attendance record

Hours: Availability to move weekend shift.
First Shift: Mon. - Thurs., 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
*Second Shift: Mon. - Thurs., 6 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Weekend Shift Day: Fri., Sat., Sun., 5 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
*Weekend Night: Fri., Sat., Sun., 5 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (Will train on first for three to four months)
