Job Summary:
The CNC Engineer is responsible for programming, optimizing, and supporting CNC machining processes used in the finishing of cast metal components. This role ensures efficient machining operations, high-quality output, and continuous improvement of CNC processes within the foundry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, program, and optimize CNC machining processes for cast components
  • Create and edit CNC programs (G-code) for mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters appropriate for various cast materials
  • Collaborate with foundry and quality teams to ensure castings are machinable and meet specifications
  • Analyze machining performance and implement improvements to reduce cycle time and tool wear
  • Troubleshoot machining issues such as dimensional inaccuracies, tool breakage, and surface defects
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), including process validation and first article inspections
  • Ensure proper setup, calibration, and maintenance coordination for CNC equipment
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, setup sheets, and process documentation
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) to machining operations
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of PPE
