CMM Programmer – Aerospace Manufacturing
Opportunity Overview
A precision manufacturing organization serving highly regulated industries is seeking a CMM Programmer to support inspection and quality assurance across multiple production sites.
This role is responsible for developing and executing CMM programs, performing detailed inspections, and ensuring all components meet strict engineering and customer requirements. The position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, supporting production flow, and driving compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a multi-site role supporting several facilities within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, program, and execute CMM inspection routines for complex manufactured components
- Perform first article, in-process, incoming, and final inspections to ensure conformance to engineering drawings and specifications
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to accurately inspect parts
- Utilize precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, comparators, and specialty gaging equipment
- Analyze inspection data and clearly document results in accordance with quality standards
- Ensure nonconforming material is properly identified and prevented from advancing in production
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to inspection methods and quality systems
- Travel between facilities as needed to support inspection and programming requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace or similar preferred)
- Experience programming CMM equipment; familiarity with PC-DMIS or similar software strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
- Hands-on experience with a wide range of precision measurement tools and inspection techniques
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as AS9100 or ISO9001
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a production environment
- Must meet U.S. export compliance requirements (ITAR eligibility)
- Willingness to travel between multiple facilities as required
