CMBS Associate Attorney

Salary: $245,000.00 - $265,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in complex CMBS lawsuits and related commercial real estate matters.
  • Lead thorough investigations and draft critical legal documents including discovery requests and responses, as well as various motions.
  • Manage extensive document productions and actively participate in depositions.
  • Craft and enforce protective orders and supervise deposition assignments along with other motion-related projects.
  • Cooperate closely with team members to deliver unparalleled client service in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the practice through meaningful collaboration and keen legal insights.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic background.
  • Current bar admission in the office’s jurisdiction.
  • 2–4 years of experience in commercial real estate finance litigation, including handling related transactions.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse discovery-related projects efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in bankruptcy litigation is advantageous.
  • Substantial experience with motion practice, including drafting and filing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within a dynamic setting.
  • Interest and capacity to mentor less experienced associates and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard legal research tools and document management systems.
